Neo-Humanist Kindergarten in Oslo

Neo-humanist kindergarten offers children a safe, friendly and relaxing atmosphere, both indoors and outdoors, where children can learn at their own pace through play, creativity and fun. 

The environment of the kindergarten is home friendly with loving and caring teachers.  Teachers   apply positive discipline with love and respect.   The kindergarten is decorated with plants, warm lights, and small furniture which create an environmental friendly atmosphere.  We offer a safe, peaceful, and child friendly environment.  Children take care of their own plant every day, and choose their activities according to their own interest and needs.

The kindergarten is located 5 minutes from the forest where children can enjoy the beauty of nature, playing freely in the woods, picking up flowers and berries, listening to the birds, and washing their hands in the river.   Children are regularly on tours out into the forest.  In the winter time they enjoy playing in the snow and skiing tours.

The daily educational program includes yoga, relaxation, simple meditation, and ethical values which are presented through stories.  We offer regular weekly activities such as art and crafts, gymnastics & music, nutrition and vegetarian cooking, ecological awareness, and drama.  In addition, we follow a yearly activity plan based on themes on Neo-humanist stories which teach children awareness and values.  Children learn to take care of everyone and everything around them as they all have an existential value.

We are an environmentalist kindergarten.  Children recycle paper, glass and metal. They plant their own flowers and herbs, and learn to take care of nature’s resources.  In addition, they feed the animals once a week and visit animal parks and farms nearby. 

Our Neo-humanist education main focus is the self-development of children in all aspects of life:  physical, mental, spiritual and social.  Children learn the importance of self awareness or self love.  We focus especially on the character development of children. 

We offer children an all-round education program where children learn how to take care of themselves, take care of their personal needs, and eat and live in a healthy way.  Children learn to think positive and rational, and to love themselves.  They learn also social awareness and universal thinking and they get encouraged to do well to others.
